Good news: I’m increasing the Mesquite powder from a 1/3 pound to a 1/2 pound! Yay!

Bad news: my first supplier, who I’ve worked with for over a decade, totally fell through so I’m backing up to a supplier that I don’t know as well.

They say they’ll ship Monday for a 4 day transit.

In some ways you’re getting to see what industrial food manufacturers deal with all the time.

Supply chains are messed up, yaw.

I’ve been doing this work for 13 years and the only other most uncertain time was the pandemic, which frankly from a supply perspective never really ended. And also from the perspective that over 1,000,000 people died just a few years ago and we don’t talk about it ever.

Or rather there’s a “new normal”.

In my day job everyone is talking about how grocers and retail packaged manufacturers aren’t placing orders and then placing huge orders to catch up.

There’s plenty of beans in the US, as we’ve experienced, so I’m not worried about like, us eating, but things are weird and there’s bigger problems than the food supply but the food supply is also getting jacked up.

Support the United Farm Workers, the people who actually do the work. I donate to them every month. And share these beans or any beans with your neighbors. We might have to start relying on them more than we had and getting used to cooking and eating them now could pay dividends in the future.

Anyway, Lentil Soup Is Mental Fruit

Sorry for the mesquite , it’ll get worked out just taking longer than I wanted, thank you for your patience,

I’m 2 home brew rhubarb ciders into the evening so I hope this isn’t too rambly,

Brian
